About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at BAM Construct & Ventures UK. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver hot and cold meals in accordance with agreed menus and recipes
  • Manage food delivery within the school, ensuring timely and efficient service
  • Adhere to current HACCP and food safety regulations and procedures
  • Ensure clean processes of food preparation and minimize waste
  • Monitor and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies
  • Ensure safe working practices around kitchen equipment and monitor maintenance issues
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, including kitchen materials
  • Assist in achieving financial targets set by the Executive Chef and Facilities Manager
  • Contribute to team meetings and adhere to all company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Chef Manager in high-volume catering within the education sector or contract catering
  • Food Safety Hygiene (Level 3) Certificate desirable
  • NVQ Level 2 in hospitality industry
  • Innovative and creative approach to menu planning and costing
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, with good ICT skills
  • Ability to use relevant catering equipment and train staff
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
