Citi is a global bank that provides financial services to individuals, businesses and governments. We are seeking a Capital Markets Strategist to join our team in the Investment Banking division.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring and executing hybrid capital and structured fixed income transactions for banks, insurers and corporates in the capital markets. They will also advise issuers globally on capital structure and debt market consequences of regulatory developments.

About the Role

  • Coordinating and preparing pitch documents for clients
  • Structuring and executing transactions, including preparing and reviewing transaction documentation
  • Liaising with Debt Capital Markets, Banking and other teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Modelling and analysing client balance sheets and capital requirements
  • Staying up-to-date with regulatory and rating agency developments to provide expert advice
  • Mentoring junior team members to help them develop their skills

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in capital markets or investment banking
  • Prior experience in legal, regulatory, accounting, tax or rating agency roles would be an asset
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering complex information clearly
  • Ability to work with numbers and analytical tools, with a strong attention to detail
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Self-motivation and a strong sense of teamwork, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues across different functions
