Join Our Team as a Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Specialist to provide expert support to UK schools on a casual, on-call basis. As a key member of our team, you will assist school governing bodies with compliance, policy development, meeting facilitation, and strategic planning, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise school governing bodies on governance best practices and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to school governance.
  • Provide training and development for governors and trustees on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Support the governing body in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of governance documents, including minutes, policies, and action plans.
  • Conduct governance audits and risk assessments, providing recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, law, public administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for remote work and virtual meetings.
  • Ability to work from home with access to a reliable internet connection.
  • Ability to attend virtual meetings using video conferencing software.
Working Pattern:
  • Work is performed from home, with occasional travel to schools for in-person meetings if required.
