Job Title: Senior Site Manager

We are recruiting for a Senior Site Manager to lead and manage site activities on a major highways scheme in Chelmsford. The successful candidate will oversee the construction of road infrastructure and drainage systems, ensuring work is completed safely, profitably, and in line with the programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage site activities on a major highways scheme in Chelmsford.

  • Maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, including the Project Manager and subcontractors.

About You

You are an experienced Senior Site Manager with a strong background in road building and drainage, capable of managing site activities on major infrastructure projects. You are an inspiring leader who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and maintaining excellent relationships with your team, clients, and suppliers.

Requirements
  • Significant experience in highways construction, specifically road building and drainage systems.
  • A proven track record of managing projects up to £10 million.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC or ICE contract conditions and programme management.
  • SMSTS certification and a valid CSCS card.
  • An industry-recognised qualification (Degree, HND, NVQ) in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
