Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visiting clients' sites across the Northeast and Yorkshire to monitor progress and identify potential issues
- Proposing amendments to contracts and negotiating with clients to ensure favorable terms
- Attending pre-contract and pre-start meetings to secure the most favorable contract terms
- Carrying out full cost value reconciliation (CVR) of all contracts monthly
- Informing clients of any variations and agreeing extra costs and final accounts in a timely manner
- Reporting and preparing sub-contractor payments and forecasts
- Checking purchase ledger subcontract accounts
- Generating timely applications, invoices, and final accounts to meet client deadlines and ensure cash flow is always paramount
- Managing and overseeing subcontractors to ensure they comply with back-to-back terms of business
Requirements:
- Experience in quantity surveying, including measurement, valuation, CVR, and change management
- Attention to detail and ability to read and understand complex contracts
- Experience with JCT and NEC forms of contract or equivalent
- Proven negotiation experience
- Degree or equivalent in quantity surveying or equivalent qualification in law and/or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Extensive project experience
