Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at a reputable primary school in the Wavertree area of Liverpool. As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, particularly in a Year 1 class.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to students in a Year 1 class.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with SEMH requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth among students.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement effective strategies for student support and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs, with a focus on promoting student engagement and motivation.
  • DBS clearance on the update service or willingness to obtain a new one through Connex Education.
