Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Control Specialist to join our team on a 24-month contract basis. The successful candidate will oversee the maintenance and upgrade of existing control systems and processes for a global leading process manufacturing organisation.

The role is based in Northeast Lincolnshire and offers a competitive salary of £55,000 per annum, paid hourly at £50 - £55 per hour, with a 36-hour working week from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the upkeep of process control systems and applications.
  • Ensure data backup and recovery procedures are in place.
  • Support Process Improvement and Process Engineering teams in the development and programming of control sequences.
  • Implement standards for DCS, ESD, and SCADA HMI packages.
  • Translate users' requirements and equipment-related process control queries into appropriate solutions.
  • Develop/update standards for new/modified control system architecture.
  • Follow change management practices when altering control systems.
  • Provide input on new technologies and stay up-to-date with technology developments.
  • Recommend improvements to infrastructure.
  • Assist with operational implementation of process control and infrastructure modifications and upgrades.
  • Offer technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
Requirements:
  1. HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical/Controls (EC&I) or similar.
  2. Relevant experience in Process Control and Safety Shutdown hardware, software, and configuration.
  3. Emerson DeltaV experience is essential.
  4. ABB System6 experience would be beneficial.
  5. Experience within a continuous manufacturing process environment, preferably a top-tier COMAH site.
  6. Able to understand fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving techniques using Process Control systems and Data Historian.
  7. Experience in communication systems like OPC, Modbus, and ethernet networking would be advantageous.
