**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our client's Buy to Let team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for underwriting loan applications and assessing the suitability of applicants and properties.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Loan Underwriting**: Assess loan documentation, including valuation reports, and request additional information from brokers as needed.
  • **Applicant and Property Assessment**: Conduct thorough checks on applicants and properties to ensure they meet the lender's criteria.
  • **Pipeline Management**: Proactively manage a pipeline of mortgage applications, chasing outstanding information from third parties and providing timely updates to introducers.
  • **Credit Committee Referrals**: Recommend and refer cases to the Credit Committee where necessary.
  • **Collaboration**: Liaise with introducers, valuers, and solicitors to ensure seamless communication and service excellence.
  • **Case Oversight**: Oversee cases from inception to completion, ensuring timely and efficient processing.

**Requirements:**

  • **FCA Regulation**: Strong understanding of FCA regulation and its application to mortgage underwriting.
  • **Mortgage Underwriting Experience**: Proven experience underwriting mortgage applications, specifically within the Buy to Let market.
  • **CeMAP (Desirable)**: CeMAP certification is desirable but not essential.
