Junior Site Reliability Engineer - Manchester

We are seeking a skilled Junior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Search 5.0.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in IT, systems administration, software development, or DevOps and a passion for building reliable, scalable systems.

This is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your skills in reliability, automation, and cloud infrastructure while working alongside experienced SREs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the reliability of our systems.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency using scripting languages.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes with our DevOps team.
  • Gain experience with different database technologies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and collaborate with senior team members to resolve issues quickly.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in software development, systems administration, or IT operations is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or programming languages with a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with any major cloud platform is an asset, but training will be provided if necessary.
  • Enthusiasm for DevOps practices, such as CI/CD or automation.
  • A problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn, and commitment to finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Collaborative mindset, willingness to work shift work, and continuous development of new skills.
