Job Title: Field Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join our team at Heathcote Recruitment Ltd. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting health and safety checks and general maintenance on CNC machines at various client sites in the Cambridge area.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough health and safety checks on CNC machines
  2. Inspect machine guarding, door interlocks, and emergency stops
  3. Check condition of vision panel, rail wiper, and axis drive belts/couplings
  4. Adjust gibs and check axis ballscrews
  5. Discover any taper issues on the spindle and check rotation of spindle and belt tension
  6. Check turret brake discs and pads, main drive belts, and hydraulic oil condition and level
  7. Inspect for pneumatic leaks and check batteries
  8. Check rotary switches and look for any signs of leaks

You will work closely with our clients to ensure their CNC machines are running smoothly and efficiently. As a Field Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with high-tech equipment and develop your skills in machine maintenance and repair.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in CNC machine maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machine tools and their operation
