About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Ventrus Multi Academy Trust. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day preparation of meals to a high standard within budget.

As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our school team to provide fresh, healthy food for the children and staff. You will also be responsible for maintaining a hygienic kitchen, effectively managing other members of the kitchen team, and promoting the service to attract the maximum number of children and positively encourage healthy food choices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day preparation of meals to a high standard within budget
  • Order food and materials
  • Maintain a hygienic kitchen
  • Effectively manage other members of the kitchen team
  • Promote the service to attract the maximum number of children and positively encourage healthy food choices
  • Possess knowledge and experience as a Kitchen Manager along with the minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Catering; Level 3 would be preferable
  • Have a proven track record of managing teams and controlling catering budgets

Requirements:

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Catering; Level 3 would be preferable
  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager
  • Knowledge and experience of managing catering teams and controlling budgets
