Automotive Quality Inspector

Direct Response Employment Services is currently recruiting a Quality Controller to join the team on a permanent basis at our client in Trowbridge.
As a Quality Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products supplied to customers. This involves a combination of visual inspection and accurate recording of inspection and supplier color approvals.
The department works closely with Customer Service to ensure queries are resolved efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect products upon delivery to warehouses to ensure quality standards are met by the factories.
- Write inspection reports to communicate any issues found during AQL inspections and provide guidance on garment quality improvements.
- Discuss further issues or quarantined stock with the wider business and outline necessary steps.
- Perform visual inspections and color management of supplier fabric submissions to ensure color consistency across ranges.
- Act as a point of contact for customer issues or feedback, liaising with relevant departments and monitoring progress.
- Receive customer returns requiring QC attention, perform investigations, and liaise feedback to relevant departments in a timely manner.
- Accurately manage stock movements via the warehouse stock system in relation to AQL garment inspections.
- Track KPIs for Quality Control functions, ensuring all relevant reports are produced and distributed on time.
- Support the Design and Buying team with product development tasks.
- Manage the QC mailbox and perform ad-hoc tasks.
- Confidence in working independently.
- Ability and confidence in making approval decisions.
- Experience working under pressure.
- Comfort in following processes on a routine basis.
- Effective time management.
- Ability to maintain accurate reporting and analytics.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, both in the immediate team and internal departments.
- Attention to detail and methodical approach.
- Problem-solving skills, both individually and collaboratively.
- Flexibility in a small team environment.
- Desirable: previous QC experience.
- Proficiency in IT with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and systems.
- Beneficial: knowledge of garment construction and pattern understanding.
Working hours are Monday to Friday with flexibility on start and finish times and a salary of £24k per annum.
