Distressed Debt Analyst Job Description

The Opportunity Hub UK is seeking a highly skilled Distressed Debt Analyst to join their team in London. As a key member of the firm's distressed debt trading and advisory activities, this individual will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's efforts in the trading, valuation, and advisory of illiquid and distressed financial assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and valuation of distressed debt instruments, including corporate bonds, bank loans, non-performing loans, and other illiquid securities.
  • Monitor and assess credit events, bankruptcy proceedings, and other key developments affecting distressed securities.
  • Build and maintain financial models to value distressed debt and illiquid securities.
  • Assist in the structuring and negotiation of transactions, including the analysis of covenant packages and recovery scenarios.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in distressed debt, high-yield credit analysis, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in financial modelling, valuation, and market research within distressed or illiquid markets.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modelling software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and contribute to group initiatives.
