In today's world, it's essential to work for a company that has a clear purpose, giving back to communities and supporting what's truly important.

As a Senior Ecologist and Project Manager, you will provide technical advice, planning, and undertake ecology surveys, including extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.

You will prepare tenders for various schemes and suites of habitat, botanical, and protected species surveys, while also providing client liaison and project management.

Additionally, you will provide mentoring and training to the wider ecology team.

The Ecology team at WSP is a large, friendly, and diverse team that works collaboratively with experts in various fields across the UK, providing extensive project experience and knowledge.

Training and mentoring opportunities are available, allowing you to grow your career.

If you have a desire to develop your core ecological, project management, and consultancy skills, the WSP Ecology team is the place to do it.

An appropriate academic qualification in a related discipline and membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management are required.

Experience in undertaking extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys is also necessary.

You must be able to work in a team of ecologists and environmental professionals and have knowledge of relevant wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies.

The ability to author Ecological Impact Assessments and Biodiversity Chapters for inclusion within Environmental Statements is desirable.

At WSP, we offer a hybrid working policy, allowing you to work from home and collaborate in our contemporary offices across the UK.

We also have employee resource groups that promote inclusivity and diversity, including VIBE (LGBTQ+ employees), CREED (Championing Racial Equality and Ethnic Diversity), and our Gender Balance Group.

We are committed to supporting our people's health and wellbeing through our Thrive programme and offer flexible working arrangements, including part-time and flexible working options.
