About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and newly qualified midwife to join our midwifery teams in both hospital and community settings. As a midwife practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to women and their families throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide autonomous midwifery care to women and their families, working within the framework of the NMC rules and standards and East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust protocols and guidelines.
  • To assess, plan, and implement care within the sphere of practice of a midwife, meeting the physical, emotional, educational, and social needs of the mother, baby, and family.
  • To work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, understanding the role of all members of the team and maintaining all necessary records and being responsible for data entry into computer-based systems.
  • To have an awareness of risk management and participate in this process, being aware of the risk management strategy and the incident reporting criteria.
  • To have an awareness of the needs of our multicultural and diverse community, including vulnerable and disadvantaged families.

Requirements

  • Registered Midwife
  • Current NMC Midwifery Registration
  • Flexible, self-reliant, and able to communicate effectively with women, relatives, colleagues, and other disciplines.
