
KS1 SEN Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join our team in a dynamic and inclusive special school located in Salisbury. The successful candidate will have a strong background in SEN education and a genuine commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments for children with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons and learning activities tailored to meet the individual learning styles, abilities, and interests of students with SEND, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), sensory processing difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Progress Monitoring and Assessment: Use a range of assessment tools and strategies to monitor students' progress, identify their strengths and areas for development, and inform the planning of personalized interventions and support plans.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, carers, and external professionals to share information, set targets, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional progress.
- Inclusive Practice: Act as a positive role model and advocate for inclusive practice, equality, and diversity within the school community, promoting a culture of respect, understanding, and acceptance of individual differences.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Extensive experience working as an SEN Teacher in a special school or a mainstream school with a focus on supporting students with SEND.
- A sound knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN conditions, educational needs, and evidence-based interventions, as well as relevant legislation and guidance.
- A genuine passion for SEN education, inclusive practice, and empowering children and young people with SEND to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Salary: £37,500 per annum, plus £7,500 statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, but there may be opportunities for permanent employment in the future.
