Project Engineer / Project Coordinator / Contracts Engineer

Verto People is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer / Project Coordinator / Contracts Engineer to join our engineering service business based in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate will have experience working and supporting managed contracts (as an engineer) and will be responsible for delivering engineering support for the repair, refurbishment, operation, and maintenance of offshore cranes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage projects, ensuring compliance with company processes and policies.
  2. Support mechanical equipment needs, including spare parts sourcing, refurbishment, and rentals.
  3. Perform engineering design work for offshore crane and lifting projects.
  4. Conduct lifting studies and prepare workpacks for onshore and offshore activities.
  5. Oversee technical and commercial aspects of project management.
  6. Lead offshore/onshore surveys and project scopes.
  7. Assist in developing tenders, proposals, and engineering documentation.
  8. Familiarize with and follow HSEQ and safety policies of both the client and the company.
  9. Implement safe work practices and identify hazards on-site.
  10. Stay informed on relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  11. Plan and document work processes to meet standards with minimal risk.
  12. Provide clear instructions to ensure safe execution and effective communication.
  13. Promote safety and environmental responsibility among team members.
  14. Address and report any breaches of company rules.
  15. Report any issues with the management system to line management.
Requirements:
  1. Previous experience as Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, Contracts Engineer or similar.
  2. Previous experience working on mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical equipment projects is ideal.
  3. Experience working on heavy plant, cranes or back decks for subsea vessels or marine engineering will be advantageous.
  4. Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings and manuals.
  5. A degree will be beneficial.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
  7. Good IT Skills.
