Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult Psychiatry

The post of Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry (10PA) offers an exciting opportunity to work in our Barnet North Core Community Team. As part of the Primary Care GP Locality in the North of the Borough, you will share consultant lead responsibilities with one full-time substantive consultant, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include providing assessment of new patients, clinical supervision of assessments carried out by team members, and making formulations using a biopsychosocial model. You will also provide clinical and professional leadership in the Team and participate in management activities related to the post and the wider service.

Service development and quality improvement are core responsibilities, aligning with the Trust's vision, values, and objectives. You will maintain compliance with legal obligations prescribed by the Mental Health Act and act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under a Community Treatment Order.

In order to meet the needs of the Partnership services, you may be required to work at different locations within the Trust or Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. This may involve working at various sites across the boroughs, supporting the delivery of integrated mental health services.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of the annual consultant appraisal process, outlined in NHS Executive Advance Letters. You will participate in a two-day trust-wide induction program and individually arranged local induction, meeting local managers and colleagues.
