Experienced VR Product Designer Wanted for Medical Training Revolution

Revolutionize the medical industry with FundamentalVR, a global pioneer in immersive VR surgical skills training and performance data. Our patented HapticVRTM technology is changing the way surgeons are trained, reducing surgical risk to patients.

We're seeking a creative, experienced, and technical XR design professional to join our small team of Product Design and Medical Education professionals. As a key member, you'll design training experience features, flows, and interfaces that meet customer needs, specifying them and working with engineers to implement them in Unity.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing user interfaces and experiences that cater to customers' requirements
  • Working closely with engineers to bring designs to life in Unity
  • Crafting engaging interactions using visual scripting or prototype tools
  • Pitching new products to customers and collaborating on initiatives to improve our SDK and learning dashboard

This role offers an exciting opportunity to conceptualize, prototype, and craft exceptional education, feel, and interaction design for users. You'll be involved in delivering customer-facing SDKs, internal tools, modular feature roadmaps, demos, prototyping kits, and an interactive UI design system while contributing to our technical design roadmap.

A strong portfolio demonstrating XR project contributions built in Unity is essential. You should possess:

  • Strong visual and UX design skills, particularly in VR interfaces, and how motion, visual effects, and 3D elements can deliver clear guidance and signposting to users
  • Mastery of Unity, with the ability to lay out user interfaces and work with visual scripting or prototype interactions
  • Pragmatic attitude needed to achieve consistency and quality within constraints
  • Knowledge of VR experiential trends, principles, techniques, and limitations to identify what's possible to product teams
  • The ability to frame a strong, persuasive rationale for proposals and design decisions
  • Familiarity with AI to create effective micro-copy and help write clear instructions for users
