Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and supportive team at an outstanding primary school in Newham.

This role is integral in helping children with diverse learning needs flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored assistance to students with SEMH needs, including those with ADHD and self-harming behaviors.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students, using your skills to support diverse learning needs.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement tailored support plans and interventions.
  • Provide crucial support across Key Stages 1 and 2, adapting to the needs of different age groups.
  • Build strong relationships with students, promoting their holistic development.

Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Nursery or Early Years Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role, is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable and experienced with nappy changing.
  • A proactive, resilient individual who upholds high standards and brings out the best in pupils.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
  • Ability to support with nappy changing and cater to individual special educational needs.
  • Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
