Senior Employment Lawyer Role Overview



Sellick Partnership Limited - Public Sector is seeking an exceptional employment law professional to join our Litigation legal team in Luton Borough Council. As a Senior Employment Lawyer, you will provide expert advice and representation to the Council in all areas of employment law.



This role offers a unique opportunity to work for a progressive legal service, delivering a wide range of legal services to local government, the public sector, charities, and schools. You will have a brilliant chance to develop your specialism with the support of a dedicated team and experienced professionals.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Deliver comprehensive professional legal advice to the Borough Council and client department.
  • Manage a portfolio of your own cases, involving acting as a legal advisor to client organisations, providing support and advice to HR Department on employment-related matters, andPreparing Employment Tribunal cases and acting as an advocate where required.
  • Attend courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required and representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice relevant to the post.


Requirements:



We are looking for candidates with previous advocacy experience and exceptional relationship building, networking, and influencing skills. You must be a qualified Solicitor, barrister, or FCILEx with 6 years+ PQE to apply. We are open-minded to speaking with candidates of all employment law backgrounds.
