Are you looking for a challenging role in a dynamic healthcare environment? As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you will be working in the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust laboratory, providing vital support to our pathologists and clinical staff.

The ideal candidate will have a good general education (GCSEs) or equivalent in Maths, English & sciences, with A levels sufficient for acceptance on a relevant Foundation degree. Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications are also desirable.

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of histology/or cytology, as well as the need for patient confidentiality. Knowledge of word processing and database systems is essential, while awareness of basic Health and Safety Biology/Human science studies and hospital practices are highly desirable.

Your experience should include data entry, previous laboratory experience, and practical experience of histology &/or cytology. Medical language and terminology, Health and Safety procedures, embedding, microtomy, cytology preparative work, special stains, and Immunocytochemistry experience are all valuable assets in this role.

Salary:

Prioritize salary range between £25,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
