Legal Counsel

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at our Bristol facility. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day legal affairs of our company, including contract management, risk assessment, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal and commercial advice to the company, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Assist with responding to public procurement tenders and concluding sales paperwork and contracts.
- Conduct risk assessments on contracts and ensure all necessary approvals are obtained.
- Draft, review, and negotiate non-sales contracts, such as agency and distributor agreements, consultancy agreements, studentship, and collaboration agreements.
- Review and update processes and procedures for contract management and administration.
- Support the Group Legal team with ad-hoc matters, such as drafting contracts for the purchase of goods and services, preparing memorandums of understanding, and ensuring statutory compliance and governance requirements.
- Ensure standard terms and conditions are incorporated into agreements with customers and suppliers.
- Assist in developing and maintaining template standard documents.
- Provide guidance and training to colleagues on contractual and compliance matters.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity and act as a trusted advisor to the management team.
- Bachelor's degree or higher qualification.
- 2-4 years PQE as a UK qualified solicitor with relevant experience.
- Experience working with other jurisdictions and in a complex matrixed organization.
- Manufacturing or technology environment experience is desirable.
- Line management experience is desirable.
- Well-organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Proactive with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
