Job Type: Full-time, Day-to-day/Long-term

Salary: £12.82 Per Hour, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join their team at an outstanding SEN-based school in Dorchester. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored educational support to students with special needs, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer tailored assistance to individual students with SEN to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve academic success.
  • Aid the teacher in lesson preparation, classroom management, and the facilitation of engaging and effective lessons.
  • Assist in assessing and recording students' progress, providing valuable feedback to the teacher to inform instructional strategies.
  • Help maintain a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere that fosters student participation and confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff members to implement effective support strategies tailored to each student's needs.

Requirements:

  • Be a recent graduate with a degree in Education or a related field.
  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role in an SEN-based classroom setting.
  • Have an understanding and compassionate approach to helping students in an inclusive learning environment.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of special educational needs and effective teaching methodologies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
