Senior Mental Health Practitioner – STICK Team – Early Help Mental Health

Band 6

The STICK team, part of Forward Thinking Birmingham, is an innovative Early Help Mental Health team providing assessment and individual/group mental health interventions to young people aged 5-18 years old.

We offer consultations to non-mental health professionals working with young people in Birmingham, aiming to provide advice, guidance, and support at an early stage to help young people learn skills to manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Our goal is to increase therapeutic interventions in children and young people at the early help stage, preventing them from needing care from secondary CAMHS services.

This senior mental health practitioner post is a city-wide position, working with a caseload of children and young people, providing therapeutic brief interventions within schools/educational settings.

You will work with STICK colleagues to provide creative interventions and support groups, in a hybrid style of working between home and city-wide.

This role is suitable for nurses with mental health experience, Occupational Therapists, and social workers with a background in mental health, including a supportive preceptorship programme and opportunities for career development.
