Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons to students, promoting a deep understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement, promoting a love for learning and a growth mindset.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents, and making data-driven decisions to inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and assessment data, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and school policies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and social responsibility.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in science education.
  • Relevant degree in Science or a related field, with a deep understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
  • Proven experience teaching science to primary or secondary students, with a track record of success and student achievement.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education, with a commitment to staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to inform instruction.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and differentiation strategies, with a commitment to promoting a culture of inclusivity and equity.
