About the Job:

This exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Named Nurse to join our Safeguarding team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safeguarding children, with experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation meets its safeguarding children's responsibilities to effectively safeguard children across the health economy. This includes contributing to the development of child protection practice, supervision, education, accountability, governance, and provision of expert advice based on mandatory and statutory frameworks and guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Associate Named Nurses/Named Nurse Team Leaders and the wider Safeguarding team to ensure effective safeguarding practices
  • Providing clinical guidance across the field of safeguarding and protecting children
  • Contributing to multi-agency partnership working arrangements and safeguarding assurance framework
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and skills in safeguarding children

The ideal candidate will have a Registered General Nurse qualification/RSCN or Registered Adult/Child Branch, NMC registration, and significant experience in adult or child safeguarding. A high level of professional autonomy and accountability is also essential.

Estimated salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
