About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Configuration Management Service Engineer to join our specialist security team at BT Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering and operating brilliant services for our special customers, working to contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Service Level Targets (SLTs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and operate services for our special customers, ensuring high-quality results and meeting SLAs and SLTs.
  • Be part of an exceptionally motivated onsite BT Service Team, working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
  • Responsible for Cabling Infrastructure Configuration updates and Firestopping records within Microsoft Access databases.
  • Team Lead on Existing and New Firestopping installations, ensuring seamless execution and quality control.
  • Installation, termination, testing, fault rectification, and patching of Copper and Fibre Infrastructure Cabling.
  • Installation and repair of AV equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Support the team in assessing customer requirements, planning, and installing solutions, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Laying and connecting of underground cables, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
  • Proactive Maintenance on various services, working alongside 3rd Party Suppliers to ensure high-quality results.
  • Raising, Monitoring, and Closing of Service tickets as part of the service team Helpdesk duties.
Requirements
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • 'Can do' attitude, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration.
  • Customer-facing, polite, and informative, with excellent communication skills.
  • Team member and team player, with a willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with team members, managers, suppliers, and customers.
Desired Experience
  • GCSE Level (or equivalent)– including Maths & English.
  • City and Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Structured (Data and Fibre) Infrastructure Cabling and Testing.
  • Experience of the installation, termination, and testing of Infrastructure Cabling.
  • IT Skills (Office 365) including Microsoft Access.
Security Clearance

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance. The role is subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work.
