Application Security Specialist

Millennium Management, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Application Security Specialist to join our Information Security Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our applications from existing and emerging security threats.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Software Engineering Teams: Work closely with our software engineering teams to design and implement security controls, ensuring the secure development and deployment of our applications.
- Identify and Mitigate Security Risks: Engage in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging, and collaborate with internal teams to identify and fix security issues in our applications.
- Conduct Security Assessments: Conduct penetration testing, code reviews, and design/architecture reviews to assess application vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation.
- Develop Security Standards: Participate in risk management activities, including application risk assessments and risk treatment/mitigation strategies, and develop and implement robust security architectures for IT projects.
- Provide Expertise and Training: Provide expertise on encryption, security controls, and secure programming, and develop and deliver training materials for the Software Engineering team related to secure coding practices and policies.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT Security, or related field, and 5+ years' experience working as an Application Security Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of security architectures, secure configuration principles/coding practices, cryptography fundamentals, and encryption protocols, as well as experience with common SCM & CI/CD technologies, static and dynamic security analysis tools, and SCA/SBOM solutions.
- Additional Requirements: Familiarity with secrets management & password vault technologies, secure programming in languages such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or similar, and knowledge of various security frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP, etc.
