Swimming Instructor

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Swimming Teacher/Lifeguard to join our team at Kings Camps. As a Swim Teacher/Lifeguard, you will be responsible for delivering engaging 30-45 minute sessions with mixed ability groups aged between 5-17, focusing on building water confidence and improving swimming techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, enjoyable, and worthwhile experiences for children
• Develop and grow people, with a focus on coaching or mentoring younger individuals
• Plan and deliver safe, but dynamic sessions from the poolside or in the water using creative techniques that appeal to a wide age range
• Conduct depth testing and risk assessments to ensure a safe aquatic environment
• Work collaboratively with a like-minded team to achieve our mission of getting children active, having fun, and learning together

Requirements

• 12 months experience as a swim teacher
• Up-to-date SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 certification
• Current Lifeguard Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award to Swimming Teachers and Coach (NRASTC)
• 6 months experience working with 5-17-year-olds
• A collaborative attitude, comfortable with rotating duties and forming positive relationships with both children and staff
