We are seeking to appoint two academic researchers in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Bristol. The successful candidates will have a strong track record in one of the following AI specialisms: Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models, Distributed and Collective Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning and Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning, or innovating with AI in domains such as Medicine and Healthcare, Robotics and/or Autonomous Systems, or Computational Neuroscience.

About the Role

The University of Bristol has a long-standing research tradition in AI, dating back over three decades. We have been chosen to host a new £200M national supercomputer research facility, focused on artificial intelligence (AI). Our research environment is internationally leading, having been ranked fifth for research in the UK. We are delighted to share that the University of Bristol was recently awarded 'University of the Year' at the inaugural awards ceremony.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in AI, with a focus on one of the specified specialisms
  • Teach and supervise students in AI-related courses
  • Contribute to the development of AI research at the University of Bristol
Requirements

We are looking for candidates with a strong track record in AI research and teaching. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and a strong publication record. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team.
