**About the Role**

AWE is currently recruiting for a Principal Reliability & Safety Engineer to join our Capital Engineering group.

This unique opportunity involves working alongside AWE's discipline leaders on some of the UK's largest construction projects, collaborating with UK and international major nuclear designers.

You will work on a wide breadth of AWE's portfolio in terms of technical complexity and various projects at all different stages of their life cycle.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to visit our unique nuclear facilities, promoting the discipline within the AWE community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proven AR&M plus safety engineering experience, ideally within the nuclear industry.
  • Good knowledge of reliability concepts and techniques, e.g., Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Safety Integrity Level (SIL), CCF/CMF, and PFD calculations.
  • Application of appropriate maintainability/maintenance strategy e.g., ensuring designs satisfy safety targets.
  • Predicted reliability performance of plant/process designs using appropriate techniques e.g., dynamic Reliability Block Simulation (RBD), Markov, Chi Square, and Weibull analysis.
  • Experience of using operational data to conduct in-service plant/process reliability performance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Familiarity with reliability and dependability BS EN; IEC 61508.

**Benefits:**

  • We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.
  • 9-day working fortnight - meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
