Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement design packages for standard applications
- Ensure the performance of the Electrical & Mechanical Design Engineers meets customer expectations
- Promote a team-based mentality between employees and other departments
- Introduce new technologies and roll out new products
- Develop standard design packages based on products that provide well-engineered cost-effective solutions for customers
- Run trials to validate equipment performance and develop product enhancements
- Provide standard technical documentation for products
- Oversee control panel design
- Optimise the use of electrical & mechanical design resources
- Monitor department output with respect to design, assembly, and material costs
- Recruit temporary staff or outsource activities to ensure fixed deadlines are met
- Comply with technical standards
- Review and maintain standard specifications
- Provide standard comment sheets for use on tenders and projects
- Evaluate the training needs of employees
- Liaise with the HR Manager to recruit employees
- Monitor, appraise, and motivate employees
- HNC/HND or higher in an engineering discipline
- Management position in the relevant field
- Competent in reading/reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Experience in both design and fabrication of machinery/equipment
- Strong managerial and leadership skills
- IT literate and proficient in the use of an ERP system
- Clean UK driving licence
