Job Title: Machine Operatives

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operative to join our team at Pertemps Bond. As a Machine Operative, you will be responsible for operating a variety of manual and CNC-based machinery for metal processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual and CNC-based machinery for metal processing
  • Process steel to customers' requirements and tolerances
  • Understand and follow verbal instructions and drawings
  • Operate forklifts, Combilifts, and crane safely and in a controlled manner
  • Perform daily checks on equipment, crane, and forklift/Combilift
  • Collate orders, including banding, palletising, bagging, and preparing for loading
  • Loading and offloading of plate and parts from plasma and laser machines
  • Identify and locate different steel products using measuring equipment
  • Keep machines and work areas clean and tidy
  • Report any accidents, incidents, machine faults, or breakdowns
  • Attend training courses when required
  • Follow safe systems of work and identify and report any shortcomings
Requirements:
  • Experience operating manual and CNC-based machinery
  • Ability to read drawings and follow verbal instructions
  • Safe operation of forklifts, Combilifts, and crane
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
