Job Overview

This Electrical Project Manager role is a key position within UK Power Networks' Capital Programme - Investment Delivery department, based in our Crawley office.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage and oversee construction assurance for a portfolio of projects or individual projects from inception to completion.
  • Agree and implement project delivery strategies, forecast resource and material requirements, monitor project costs and delivery, manage contractor performance, and provide regular reports.
  • Liaise with Design, Infrastructure Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Network Operations, and Asset Management teams.
Key Deliverables:
  • Deliver projects/portfolios from inception to completion on time, to quality standards, and within budget, ensuring the highest levels of safety and environmental management.
  • Ensure construction assurance through audits on quality of work, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures, and safety and environmental procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience managing construction or engineering projects with values in excess of £10 million.
  • Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering, preferably with a Project Management bias.
  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of construction management best practices.
  • Possess a safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely and experience working with CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.
  • Show proficiency in Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite applications (Excel, Word, and Access).
Additional Information
  • The successful candidate will lead a matrix-structured diverse project team, providing direction, targets, and project milestones to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • They will be responsible for implementing scopes of work, procurement processes, capital approval, resource planning, project delivery, reporting, and review.

The salary for this role is approximately £76,229, inclusive of a car allowance and a 3% bonus. The role also offers a blended working arrangement after a probationary period, with 3 days in the office and 2 remote days.
