Plant Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Proftech Talent. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Plant is running safely and effectively, with a focus on reliability and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Plant is running safely and effectively.
- Develop and implement plans to ensure future reliability of Plant.
- Investigate and resolve recurring Plant issues to maximize uptime.
- Conduct analysis of engineering-based non-standards.
- Review and optimize PPM (Predictive Maintenance) processes.
- Develop and implement safe working procedures through Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
- Implement plant and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage engineering spend and ensure sufficient spares are available to minimize downtime.
- Engage and manage contractors to ensure high-quality work.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety legislation.
- Liaise closely with maintenance and operations teams to maximize opportunities during Plant downtime.
- Identify cost savings through Plant improvement and energy efficiency initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree/HNC in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a relevant industry.
- IOSH Certified is desirable.
Skills and Qualities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coach maintenance staff on technical issues.
- Ability to identify and plan work to avoid unplanned production outages.
- Excellent communication skills to work with peers and external experts.
- Ability to produce technical reports on dangerous occurrences and Plant incidents.
- Strong organizational skills to manage purchase orders and payment authorisation.
Technical Skills:
- Sound understanding of hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of machinery - gearboxes, drives, millers, lathes, bar peelers etc.
- Knowledge of test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment advantageous.
- Cranes and lifting equipment.
- Knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations beneficial.
- Ability to develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
