Critical Engineering Supervisor - A Key Role for PRS

PRS is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Supervisor to join their team on a critical banking site in Liverpool Street. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering team and ensuring the smooth operation of the site.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in critical environments and a good understanding of building services. They will be responsible for undertaking training, familiarising themselves with the building and its systems, and assisting the Shift Supervisor with creating processes and building setup.

The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for:

  1. Undertaking training and building/system familiarisation as part of the project's Soft Landings activities.
  2. Supporting the fit-out contractor activities such as isolations, connections, work permits, etc. - where required.
  3. Maintaining systems and assets in a data-driven environment, using new digital tools and platforms (training will be provided).
  4. Developing a comprehensive understanding of the building, its layout, functions, and complexities through developed practices, scenario drills, continuous assessments, staff training, and personal development.
  5. Liaising with engineering Contractors, shift teams, Engineering Manager, and Permit Manager to plan and execute works.
  6. Assisting maintenance teams during quiet periods on the project.
  7. Preparing and taking responsibility for permit to work requests as required.
  8. Maintaining records of maintenance activities as required in respect of directly employed staff and sub-contractors.
  9. Investigating faults, identifying root causes of faults, and preparing accurate/timely reports on plant and equipment failures.
  10. Undertaking other tasks as required by the Engineering Manager/Shift Leader.
  11. Looking out for smarter, more efficient ways of working - seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  12. Raising and closing jobs on PDAs as necessary.
  13. Contributing positively to the team effort and the raising of the standard.
  14. Ensuring day-to-day and future compliance to safe working practices, quality standards conformity, and best practice methods.
  15. Preparing accurate/timely reports as required.
  16. Investigating faults, identifying causes, and effecting remedies.

Requirements:

  1. City & Guilds Electrical discipline competency, Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent apprenticeship.
  2. 18th Edition BS7671 wiring regulations.
  3. HV switching qualification/experience (including 33kV).
  4. C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  5. ACoPs L8.
  6. IOSH qualification.
  7. Comprehensive building services knowledge in similar environments to a minimum of HVAC standards.
  8. Critical Environment Experience.
  9. Good Customer relationship skills.
