Job Overview

LHH is collaborating with a large independent firm in Exeter to find a dedicated and experienced Audit Senior. The firm prioritizes employee centricity, offering a work-life balance.

The role involves managing audit engagements, overseeing client relationships, and junior staff. Key responsibilities include planning and executing audits, reviewing work, adhering to compliance, and preparing financial statements. The role also entails assessing risks, communicating with management, and identifying service improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, carry out, and finalise audit assignments while supporting the audit manager.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax calculations, and returns for limited companies and groups.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services.
  • Assist with other compliance tasks, including preparing VAT returns.
  • Prepare accounts for partnerships and sole traders, including drafting income tax calculations.
  • Communicate workload progress to management and plan for efficient task completion.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Train and oversee junior staff members.
  • Prepare management accounts.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in audit, accounting, and tax software.
  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Full clean driver's license.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiar with accounting software, including Sage and Xero.
  • Previous use of CCH and Caseware would be an advantage.
  • Excel skills, including vlookup, sumif, and Pivot Tables.
