About the Role

As a Prison Officer with Serco Plc, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of prisoners, staff, and visitors in our prisons. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to reducing reoffending rates amongst prisoners and providing a supportive environment for rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise prisoners in all aspects of prison wing activity, including work and education programs.
  • Oversee operational matters such as prisoner headcounts, prison cell searching, security, and administrative processes.
  • Manage prisoners who are at risk of self-harm and provide support and guidance to help them overcome challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.
