Opportunity for a Digital Preservation Expert

The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a consultant to support the preservation and maintenance of its digital collections and corporate information.

The chosen consultant will work closely with a cross-museum working group to:

  1. Conduct a comprehensive audit of digital collections and corporate information to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  2. Develop a high-level gap analysis highlighting key risks, opportunities, and priorities for the organisation.
  3. Recommend a digital preservation strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure the long-term accessibility and integrity of digital assets.

The consultant will report to a cross-museum working group and will have access to a budget of £30k. The work is expected to commence prior to the end of March 2023.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in digital preservation, collections management, and information technology. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.

The Digital Preservation Coalition is committed to preserving and making accessible its digital collections and corporate information for future generations. This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant to make a meaningful contribution to this effort.
