Levitate Recruitment is proud to partner with a prestigious accountancy firm in Preston, seeking an exceptional Audit and Accounts Supervisor to join their Corporate team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly respected firm, renowned for its commitment to staff development and client satisfaction.

The Corporate team provides a wide range of business support services to individuals and businesses across various sectors, including not-for-profit, academies, professional practices, manufacturing, leisure, and tourism. As an Audit and Accounts Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting client managers, coordinating compliance service delivery, and ensuring deadlines are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting client managers in delivering compliance services, including timetabling work and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and other professional contacts, developing relationships, and spotting opportunities to add value
  • Assisting in arranging, preparing for, and attending planning and completion meetings with clients
  • Leading audit teams on site, working on various assignments, and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Reviewing assignment work and reporting to senior management as appropriate
  • Providing support to junior members of staff and assisting them in achieving professional competencies
  • Completing and supervising specialist audits under various client money regulations, grant funding schemes, and other regulatory requirements
  • Performing internal audits for clients under an outsourced role
  • Providing accounting support to clients by preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and undertaking ad-hoc projects
  • Preparing individual and group statutory accounts under UK GAAP, including FRS102 for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparing corporation tax, partnership tax, and business tax computations
  • Managing own fee targets, monitoring WIP, and billing, in addition to managing own time
  • Preparing and presenting reports and other documentation for clients

The successful candidate will be a positive and enthusiastic individual, committed to providing outstanding client service while taking responsibility for their own personal development. They will be able to communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner and be a good team player, ensuring the team meets its objectives.

Requirements:

  • Recent ACA qualification (or similar)
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience of auditing standards and a wide range of audit and accounts clients
  • Experience of preparing accounts for various entities
  • Experience of supervising assignment teams and providing feedback and training to individuals
  • Sound technical knowledge of tax principles
  • Effective communication with clients, contacts, and fellow team members
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Great attention to detail
  • Solutions-focused
  • Demonstrated flexibility in working practices to support client needs
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages, accounts production, audit, and corporation tax software, Sage Line 50, and cloud-based accounting software
