About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Music Education Director to join our school community. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in planning and delivering music lessons for students with varying musical abilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Music to plan and deliver engaging music lessons for year 3 to 8 students.
  • Nurture students' enjoyment of practical musicianship, focusing on ensemble work.
  • Accompany soloists and choirs at internal and external performances, as well as play for school services and productions.
  • Lead large ensembles and one choir, taking weekly hymn practice sessions.
  • Organise concerts, workshops, and educational experiences outside the school.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Music with ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD), QTS desirable.
  • Knowledge of the music curriculum for primary and secondary education.
  • High standard experience in choral and orchestral conducting.
  • Excellent keyboard skills to accompany instrumental soloists.
  • Ability to lead and conduct large ensembles and choirs.
  • Enthusiasm and approachability with a passion for music and education.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to student safety and welfare, adhering to safeguarding policies.

Salary:

£55,000 - £70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
