HV Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HV Fitter to join our team in the North West. As an HV Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the site services team, responsible for a wide range of duties on substation plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of new HV/LV equipment
  • Refurbishment and maintenance of existing equipment
  • Fault investigation & repair
  • Routine condition monitoring in line with commercial targets

You will draw on your hands-on experience of managing HV assets to work effectively on a range of sites across the region. You will be adaptable, thinking on your feet and reacting to site requirements to find solutions for your clients.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 4 years in a similar position within the industry or qualified at NVQ Level 3 as a minimum
  • A strong background in Electrical Engineering with a thorough knowledge of switchgear maintenance and installation
  • Experience of working on transmission equipment
  • Competency with Microsoft suites including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with retrofitting of LV and HV switchgear is advantageous
  • Strong people skills and experience in managing internal & external relationships
  • Ability to read and interpret technical CAD drawings is required
  • Management capabilities and ability to help develop junior project engineers within the team

A full UK Driving License is required.
