About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting healthy, nutritious meals for our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for children, ensuring minimum wastage and meeting dietary requirements.
  • Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Work with the nursery team to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Support with other nursery activities, such as BBQs and staff meetings.
  • Manage stock levels and record keeping, in line with company procedure.
  • Work in partnership with parents and colleagues to promote healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a cooking role, preferably in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - must be passed on day 1 in post.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
  • Great communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
