Job Title: Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Development Engineer to join our team at BMR Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and refining product requirements, managing the product roadmap, and overseeing the development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in HAZOP/DFMEA studies to identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Carry out record risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Support the introduction of new products and ensure smooth transition to manufacturing
  • Type testing and compliance testing of designs, including design of experiment
  • Design and develop all mechanical aspects of a product range and participate in design reviews
  • Escalate any technical risks to the senior development engineer
  • Perform engineering calculations and undertake medium to complex FEAs in support of the design

Requirements:

  • A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree or demonstrated industry experience with other engineering qualifications
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical design concepts and system testing
  • Familiarity with safety assessments, compliance standards, and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in product development methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, validation, and manufacturing transition
  • Experience with system characterisation, testing, and failure analysis techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Influencing, communication, presentation, and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
