The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join one of our Secondary SEND Schools in Newham. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development in a mixed SLD KS4 class with 6 students and 4 teaching assistants.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEND.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that promote students' social and emotional growth.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure optimal results.
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages students to thrive.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to keep them informed about student progress.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support student development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in teaching children or young people with SEND.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND practices and inclusive education principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with SEND.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingsness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.

Salary and Benefits: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum

Location: Newham

Estimated Salary: £45,500
