Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sommelier to join our esteemed team at Lympstone Manor, a 1 Michelin Star Country House Hotel. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine service, creating memorable dining experiences for our discerning guests, and contributing to the hotel's award-winning wine program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
- Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, taking into account their preferences and dietary requirements.
- Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions for guests and staff.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine-pairing menus and ensure seamless wine service during meals.
- Manage wine inventory, including ordering, storage, and rotation of wines.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, wine releases, and new products.
Requirements
- Relevant studies and qualifications in wine service or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sommelier in a high-end establishment, preferably in the UK.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests and staff.
- Strong knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism under pressure.
