Senior Economist - Economic Impact Consulting

Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join its consulting directorate. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of projects, from quantifying the economic impact of major industries to evaluating the effects of policy changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct robust and rigorous economic analysis to deliver high-quality consultancy projects.
  • Apply advanced quantitative analytical techniques to large datasets using software such as Excel, Stata, R, and Matlab.
  • Lead on aspects of project work, with opportunities for progression to managing projects.
  • Support senior colleagues in developing research proposals, project reports, and presentations.
  • Plan and structure project work to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in economics or a related field, with a strong understanding of economic theory and its application.
  • 3-6 years' experience in quantitative economic analysis, with proficiency in econometrics software and programming languages.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including knowledge of advanced functions and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts to non-specialists.
  • Experience of working in a consulting environment, with a track record of successful quantitative project analysis.
