Contribute to the Preservation of Cultural Heritage

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Archivist. In this role, you will play a key part in the development, delivery, and exploitation of high-quality archive services that support the learning, teaching, and research activities of our institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the University Archives and Special Collections Centre, supervising and supporting users of the archive and assisting with enquiries.
  • Develop and deliver educational activities, such as inductions, academic support sessions, and tailored learning sessions for specific courses, in liaison with relevant departments.
  • Participate in the care and management of archive and special collections, cataloguing collections in line with recognised archival practice.
  • Assist with the promotion of archives and collections using social media and blogs, and support the curation of internal and external loans.
  • Supervise volunteers in accordance with the Centre's volunteering policies and procedures.
