Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to join our team in the West Midlands. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for coordinating market research, identifying trends, and driving the development and lifecycle management of our software and smart home products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and identify new product ideas for smart security products.
  • Develop project proposals and manage them through the product development process to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards.
  • Review and understand the product portfolio, taking full ownership with P&L responsibility.
  • Develop and manage category development strategies for the product portfolio.
  • Develop a commercial awareness of what ERA needs to do to be profitable, successful, and serve its customers well.
  • Ensure a pipeline of new products is delivered on time with strong commercial potential.
  • Maintain product map/gap analysis to effectively contribute to product lifecycle management and strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in new product development.
  • Strong strategic analysis skills.
  • Experience in managing a product portfolio and simultaneous projects.
  • Product lifecycle management (including supersession and end-of-life management).
  • Demonstrable product management experience in the electronics/technology industry within consumer, distributor, and OEM route to market.
  • Demonstrable experience in consumer IoT technologies.
  • A proven successful record with delivering consumer-facing hardware and software products from start to finish.
